Dashmesh Gurmat Vidyala sources its staff through a combination of community engagement and professional networks. Many staff are active members of the local Sikh and Punjabi community, while others bring teaching experience from mainstream schools and the Victorian School of Languages (VSL).
All staff and volunteers are required to hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) before commencing duties. The school maintains a WWCC Register which is regularly updated and verified against staff records. Where required, staff also hold relevant qualifications in First Aid and Child Safety.
To ensure the highest standards of compliance, staff participate in Child Safety Training, induction sessions, and professional development opportunities provided through the Department of Education and the Community Language Schools of Victoria (CLSV). For roles involving curriculum leadership or VCE Single Study Language provision, teachers must be appropriately qualified and VIT registered, in line with regulatory requirements.
Through these processes, Dashmesh Gurmat Vidyala ensures that its staff are both appropriately trained and fully compliant with legal and educational obligations, while also being deeply committed to the school’s mission of promoting Punjabi language and Sikh values.
